Mikulas Galanda
Mikuláš Galanda (* May 4, 1895, Turčianske Teplice - † June 5, 1938, Bratislava) was an important Slovak painter, graphic artist and illustrator. He was one of the main pioneers and promoters of modern art in Slovakia. He is buried in the Martin National Cemetery. In addition to numerous exhibitions throughout Czechoslovakia, Mikuláš Galanda exhibited his work in New York and Moscow, and in 1937 won the Silver Medal for Book Graphics and Illustration at the Universal Exhibition in Paris.
