The picture book "I'm" depicts the theme that "even the same scenery is seen and felt differently by different people." To commemorate the publication of the picture book, we will be holding an exhibition of original illustrations. This exhibition will display paintings by Hirai Emi, including works that are not included in the picture book. The artist herself will be present during the exhibition, so there will also be time for you to talk to her directly. Usaginingen Hirai Emi
Born in 1980. After graduating from Joshibi University of Art and Design, she worked as an art director and designer at an advertising planning and production company.
In 2007, he launched the design production company usaginingen.
From 2010, he moved to Berlin, Germany for six years and began working as a video artist using his own video equipment. His performances, which combine analog and digital in a unique way, have been highly praised around the world, and he has won numerous awards, including the Grand Prix in the Live Cinema category at the Reykjavik Visual-Music Festival (Iceland) in 2014. His performances have toured 27 countries so far.
In 2021, she appeared in an advertisement for Apple Japan.
In 2016, the group moved its base of operations to Teshima, a remote island in Kagawa Prefecture.
In 2020, when live performances were not possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he began painting.
In 2023, the first picture book "I'm" was produced, and in 2024, the first edition was published.
