Erik Binder
Born in Hnušt in 1974. Studied under Professor Robert Jančovic and Professor Daniel Fischer at the Academy of Fine Arts, and Associate Professor Vladimir Kokola at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Since 2000, he has held 45 solo exhibitions in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Serbia, Holland, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Poland, France, Switzerland, Germany and the United States.
He works in a wide range of fields including installation, video, objects, painting, drawing, printmaking and graffiti, and values the interaction with materials and a free approach to media. He is one of the few Slovak artists who earn a living from his own work. In 2003, he participated with the group Kamera skura in the pavilion of the 50th International Art Fair, the most prestigious contemporary art exhibition in the world, as a representative artist of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
