Ján Bátorek

Jan Bátorek

I am a 90s child born in a small town in Keisuke, and my visuals are a mix of Western and Eastern aesthetics. I put all of my memories of strange and surreal scenes, bad tribalism, grey housing complexes, izakayas, worn handkerchiefs, aching hearts, drugs, and all of those cold and warm memories. The children of the housing complexes roam the complexes looking like mythical creatures and mutants from Western cartoons. Sometimes alone, sometimes in groups, they don't go home, they picket, they hang out, they devour their freedom. In my work you can find fragments of urban subcultures and the atmosphere, uneasy mood, strange wit, and exaggeration that emanates from them.
